7T - Temperley

Welcome to Temperley House! My name is Mrs Ologunde, and I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome you to King Edward VI Aston and especially to 7T. You will be part of Temperley House, which was named after the very first headmaster of the school, for the duration of your time at Aston, and you will represent your house in many different competitions against other students from the other four houses. These competitions are varied; there are plenty of sporting events but also more academic challenges too, so there will be something for everyone to compete in.

Moving from primary school to secondary school (and especially to a grammar school like this one), is a big step and can be quite daunting at first. As your form tutor/Head of Year, together with your Pastoral Lead, Mrs Blundell, I will be there to help you through the changes that you will face and to support you through any concerns and challenges that you may experience. There will be lots of changes – new teachers, new routines, new friends and new expectations – but with hard work and dedication I am sure that you will make a success of your time at Aston.

The best way to make the most of your time here at Aston is to do your very best. We have high expectations here of excellent organisation, working hard and diligently, showing respect for all and excellent behaviour. If you can make good habits quickly in school, the better it will be for you in terms of fulfilling your all-round potential. The most important thing to remember about your time here at Aston is that you are here to learn. If you remember this, and your behaviour and work ethic reflects this, I am sure you will excel.

I look forward to meeting you in September!
