This appointment arises from the promotion of the current post holder.

The appointment is effective from 1st April 2021 although a later start would be considered if requested.

King Edward VI Aston School is one of the nine schools of the King Edward VI Academy Trust and part of the King Edward VI Foundation of schools.

As a selective school, pupils are admitted into Year 7 on the basis of their performance in the admission test. The school admits 140 pupils in five forms each of 28 pupils. The school has a sixth form of 300 pupils with 60 or more joining in Year 12 having completed their GCSE examinations in other schools.

Great emphasis is placed on extra-curricular participation. The school has a thriving House competition for both sporting and non-sporting activities, stages regular drama productions and music concerts and has representative teams in all of the major sports.

Nationally, the school has one of the largest numbers of disadvantaged pupils attending a selective school and is proud that over 25% of the pupils in Years 7-13 receive additional support from the school.
