Thursday Pursuits

Our Thursday Pursuits programme runs fortnightly from 2.45 pm to 3.35 pm, providing students with a purposeful and well‑supervised end to their school day. Students can choose from two activity options: a structured sporting session or a quiet study session. Both options are designed to support students who remain on site until 3.35 pm.

Activity Options

Sporting Option – £90 per year (£5 per week)

• Two coached sporting groups led by trained games staff
• Structured physical activity and skill development
• Safe, supervised environment
• Payable in advance for the full year

Study Session – £54 per year (£3 per week)

• Quiet, supervised space for independent study, homework, or revision
• Staffed by a member of KE Aston School
• Payable in advance for the full year

Payments

• Payments for the programme are collected in July/August and are due by 1st September
• Payments secure a student’s place for the entire year
• If the school cancels a session, a refund will be issued for that session
• Refunds cannot be issued for student absence due to illness, appointments, or personal circumstances, as staffing and coaching arrangements are confirmed in advance

Availability

To ensure high-quality supervision:

• The Sporting Option has a maximum of 90 spaces across both groups
• The Study Session has a maximum of 30 spaces

Places are allocated on a first‑come, first‑served basis.

How to Sign Up

Parents and carers can sign up via the Parent Arbor app/portal:

1. Choose Sporting Option or Study Session
2. If a session is full, your child will automatically be placed on the waiting list
3. After reserving a place, payment must be made via Parent Pay by 1st September
4. Unpaid places after this date will be offered to the next student on the waiting list

Prospective Year 7 students joining in Sept 2026

Parents will be emailed sign-up details in early July and are expected to pay by 8th September 2026 to secure their child's.  Further information regarding payment will be sent in early September.
