Results 2025

We are incredibly proud of our Year 13 students who received their A-Level results today. Their hard work, resilience, and determination have truly paid off and we are delighted to share that this year marks another step forward in our continued journey of improvement.

For the third year running, our overall Level 3 Value Added (L3VA) score has improved, reflecting the outstanding progress our students have made. We’re especially proud of the following achievements:

  • Students in receipt of bursaries have shown improved outcomes for the third consecutive year

  • Pupils with SEND have improved for the fourth year in a row

  • Disadvantaged students have continued to thrive, with results improving for the third year running

  • Students who joined King Edward VI Aston at the start of Year 12 have shown strong progress, improving for the third year in a row

  • The percentage of A*-B grades has increased again this year, continuing a three-year upward trend

These results are a testament to the dedication of our students and the unwavering support of our staff and families.

To all our Year 13 leavers, whether you're heading to university, starting an apprenticeship, or moving into the world of work, we wish you every success and happiness in the exciting journey ahead. We are very proud of you and we can’t wait to see what you do next!

Marking review for A-Level examinations

If any of your results are not what you expected, then you may ask for an enquiry to be made into your results.

Priority copy of scripts to support marking review - Deadline Wednesday 27th August: You can ask to see a copy of your scripts before deciding whether to submit a review of marking request. Scripts will be received by 5th September.

Clerical check - Deadline Wednesday 24th September: This is a re-check of all clerical procedures leading to the issue of a result, including a check that all parts of the script have been marked and scores totalled correctly. The target for completion is within 10 calendar days of the awarding body receiving the request.

Review of marking - Deadline Wednesday 24th September: Reviewers will conduct a review of the accuracy and consistency of the application of the mark scheme. The target for completion is within 20 days of the awarding body receiving the request.

You may also submit a priority review of marking if your university place depends on your grade. The deadline for this is Tuesday 19th August but we recommend you doing this as soon as possible.

Possible outcomes of a review:

  • Your original mark is confirmed as correct, and there is no change to your grade.

  • Your original mark is raised, so your final grade may be higher than the original grade you received.

  • Your original mark is lowered, so your final grade may be lower than the original grade you received.

Resitting at King Edward VI Aston

Students should be aware that A-Level examinations can only be retaken in exceptional circumstances. In most cases, resitting an A-Level is not permitted. Any request to resit will require formal approval from the school and will only be considered where there is a compelling and evidenced reason. This is usually due to a significant impact on Year 13 learning or significant disruption during the examination period.

If you feel that you may qualify, please complete this application form. Your request will then be reviewed by a panel of staff.
