Italy Yr10 & Yr 12


Trip overview

The Geography department are running a 4 day, 3 night trip to Italy in May, 2022 for 40 students from the current year 10 and year 12 geographers.  The trip offers the chance to see one of the world’s most famous volcanoes in Mount Vesuvius, whilst understanding the impact that volcanic activity has had on the surrounding area.

Key information

The provisional itinerary includes a guided visit to the summit of Mount Vesuvius and a guided tour of both Pompeii and Herculaneum, the Roman cities devastated by the eruption in AD79. We will also be visiting Agriturismo Galatea a mainly agricultural farm, established over four generations which uses traditional and biological methods to cultivate Sorrento lemons on traditional terraces. Furthermore, we will be travelling down the stunning Amalfi coast. The trip will end with a visit to a traditional Italian ice cream making parlour.
