Remote Education

Remote learning

All students are currently following their normal school timetable and are taught via a range of approaches suited to the specific learning and curriculum content, just as they would normally get if they were in school. This is a combination of (but not limited to) live Teams meeting lessons, recorded videos and tasks set through Teams or OneNote. Teachers are available throughout the lesson to support the students in their learning whether that be through the live lesson or through the chat feature of Teams. For years 7 - 10 in each subject (where there are three or more lessons a fortnight), one lesson is a dedicated independent study lesson for that subject, giving students time to consolidate the recent learning in that subject. Registers are taken during every lesson and Heads of Year are in contact with parents if they are concerned about a student’s engagement or attendance.

On site provision

We currently have a small number of students who are critical worker/vulnerable children completing their remote learning onsite. They are based in a computer room completing their remote education.

The following website may be of use to parents when supporting their child with their remote learning. The Tablet Academy have a range of free courses including one aimed specifically at Microsoft Teams for Parents: https://learn.tablet-academy.com/courses/microsoft-teams-for-parents/

Please see the document below for a more detailed overview of our provision.
